Have just come across a Letitia Archbold (1833-1867) from Carnmoney I mbelieve who married a Samuel Moreland in Cliftonville (Donegal St) Presbyterian Church in 1851. Her father was Robert.

Anybody know any more of this family?

If you phone the cemeteries office for Carnmoney on 02890 340080 I'm sure you'll be able to check it out seeing as you have the date of death. They may be able to give you an age, cause of death, confirm who else is buried there etc.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have just found this thread and can provide more information. I have been researching the Crothers family in Belfast over the weekend and can establish that Thomas Crothers was one of at least thirteen children - his brother John married my great grandmother's cousin, they all shared a house.

The 1901 census has recently went online and Thomas can be found on that living with his parents and some of his siblings at Vere Street. His parents were Johnston Crothers, an iron moulder and Maggie Tully.

If you want to get in contact I would be more than happy to provide the other info I hold on this family.

Best wishes,

Martin

Tyrone / Re: Presbyterian churches in Tyrone

Hi Judith,

Sorry for the late reply but have only just discovered this thread.

I have recently discovered I am directly related back to the Norris family of Drumragh through Thomas Norris and Margaret Hamilton who married in 1846 in Ballynahatty First Presbyterian Church. Thomas was a weaver living at Edergold when he got married. Thomas' father was Robert Norris, farmer and I suspect he may also be the father of other Norris' who married in Drumragh around that time.

If anyone can help to establish a connection or shed any more light on the Norris' I would be most grateful!

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Ann,

That was quick! Glad to hear from you too, I take it that you live in England? William attended his sister Martha's wedding in 1854 - though this marriage was in Belfast, Martha had previously married in Magherahamlet in 1850 but her husband Andrew Bowles had died. Elizabeth was also at the wedding and all three were the children of James Phillips. Elizabeth married Henry Scott in 1856 in Magherahamlet. There was also a sister Mary and possibly a brother John. Are you on Genes Reunited? if so, I can share my tree with you if that helps.

Haven't figured out yet how to send private messages on here but feel free to send me one if you want and we could take this off the forum board.

Best wishes,

Martin

Hi Ann,

I know this is an old thread but I have just found it.......William Phillips appears to have been the brother of my great-grandmother. I hope you log on to see this as I should be able to help you further with your search if you see this! William was a witness at his sisters wedding and there also seems to have been at least three more in the family, all children of James Phillips, farmer. Please contact me if you see this!

Hope to hear from you soon,

Martin
