Hiya I have been trying to find a baptism for Giles gudge .and his wife Hannah thorner they married in toller,fratrum Dorset in 1793 .i would like to find out there year of birth and there parents .ive been searching all night but not having any luck :( they do have children in 1800 born in long breedy Dorset so I had a look there to c if Giles or Hannah were born there but couldn't find them .any help would be much appreciated  :)

Hi I am trying to find a record for a John Francis .his son Lazarus Francis was born abt 1834 in India madras .his census records state a British subject so I think his father is British .im trying to find any records of a John Francis maybey traveling in the military over to India .clueless as to who Lazarus mum is ??? All I know is Lazarus came back to England and married in 1866 in London.i can't find a miliatary record for him either but did find one for a lazar Francis in 1850 ies which could be him .but what im really looking for is his dad John and why he was in India any help would be much appreciated

Hi I am trying to work out who James and Sarah wakelin are ? They were at my gx3 grandparents wedding as witnesses at Christchurch st Marylebone in 1866 .lazarus Francis and Clara a garrood R my grandparents .lazarus was born India abt 1830 British subject his  father being John Francis and that's as far as I have got with him .i wonders maybey if the wakelins were family of some sort or maybey just friends .i can't find John Francis in census records I don't even know how or what year Lazarus left India to come to England .but I have found census records after his and Clara marriage with info but still no sign of his dad or mum or siblings .kinda hit a brick war =(
Would be nice to find something !

Hiya can anyone tell me what the British were doing in madras India around 1830 .one of my g..granfathers Lazarus Francis was born there in 1830 .his father is John f who was English .when Lazarus came back to England he married Clara garrood and has put his dads occupation down as butler .i can not find any trace of his dad or what part of england his from or why he  was in India I do t even no if Lazarus mother was Indian or English I have come to a dead end .so I wondered why the British were  in India madras at that time . anybody know  ???

Have been busy doing my family tree and just wondered how far back in time other root chat members  have managed to trace back there family tree too ? So far mine has been to 1769 and its not been easy  :)
