Australia / John Thomas Lankfer marriage to Mary
« on: Saturday 04 November 17 14:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am trying to find out more information about someone in my tree who moved to Australia. I know that he was born in 1860 in Cambridgeshire, England. The last English census I have found him in is in 1871 in Leicestershire with another relative.
Some time after that, I don't know the date he moved to Australia and married Mary (maiden name unknown) and had 3 girls. Details of his wife and children appear in an obituary in the Sydney morning herald in 1928.
I know that he was a butcher and sometimes was just Thomas rather than John Thomas.
I would like to find a marriage record for him. He could have got married in England or Australia.
And I would also like to find birth records for his children as I don't know when they were born.
Their names are Elizabeth Mary Lankfer, Henrietta Lankfer and Florence Lankfer.
Any help or other information about them would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much
Vicky

Lincolnshire / Marriage record of John Rippon and Susannah Rippon
« on: Thursday 10 August 17 17:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
Can anyone find the marriage record of John Rippon to Susannah Rippon in 1830 in Kirkby la Thorpe. I just wanted to know if there were any witnesses/parents mentioned.
I think they are related to each other but not sure if they are cousins or uncle and niece or something different.
Thank you very much

Lincolnshire / John Rippon
« on: Tuesday 08 August 17 09:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am trying to find out more about an ancestor John Rippon. This is what I know so far. He was married to Mary and had at least 5 children in Kirkby la Thorpe: Elizabeth, 1801, Mary Ann, 1803, John, 1804, Sarah, 1809 and Susanna 1810.
It's not much to go on but I'd like to know when John was born, when he got married and who his parents were so I can go further back.
If anyone can help in anyway it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Vicky

Lincolnshire / When did Sarah Maria die?
« on: Sunday 25 June 17 16:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm trying to find a death for Sarah Maria Lankfer. She was born in 1868 in wisbech, Cambridgeshire. She married Albert Dickins then later she married William Pridgeon Yarrad in Lincolnshire. I found her in 1939 as Sarah Maria Yarrad so am assuming she died as that but can find no death records.
If anyone can help I would be most grateful.
Thank you
Vicky

Cambridgeshire / William Lankfer 1818 Cambridgeshire
« on: Saturday 24 June 17 18:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am researching my Lankfer family history. The Lankfer name is not very common and most Lankfers I have found in the census I have been able to fit into the tree but am struggling with a few and also the name seems to be misspelled alot further back.
John Lankfer (a direct ancestor of mine) was born in 1784 in Elm. His baptism spells his name as Lankfor and his parents were Henry and Mary who I think are Henry and Mary Langford. They also had a son William Langford born in 1786 in Elm so I think this is John's brother. I have got John and his wife Susan's children down fine. I know that a different William Lankfer born in 1818 is not John and Susan's son but im thinking he could be Williams (1784) but I can't find any records to prove this.
I found a marriage record for a William Lankford/Lankfer (depending on which record you look at) where he married Sarah Reeve in 1811 in Elm. So they could be William juniors parents but how do I prove it?
There are also two other people who I think could be William seniors children -  Ann, born 1811 and John born abt. 1819.
If anyone can find any records to show that they are Williams children or if there are any other children I would be very grateful.
As it's such a rare name I would be surprised if they weren't related.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Vicky

Lancashire / What happened to William Whitehead
« on: Wednesday 17 May 17 19:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
I am trying to figure out what happened to William Whitehead. I know he was baptised on 1st October 1786 in Liverpool. His parents were James Whitehead and Ellen Jones. His father James was originally from North Wales. He was their first child. They moved to London a few years later and had more children. I have able to trace all the children in London apart from William. I'm assuming he died as a baby/boy but cannot find any records to confirm that.
Any records relating to him would be much appreciated
Thank you

Flintshire / Edward Whitehead, 1762 Hawarden
« on: Sunday 02 April 17 09:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could help me with this person. I am trying to find out what happened to him. The only record I have so far is his baptism in 1762.
He had 4 brothers, all stone masons, who ended up in partnership together in London. I can't find any records for Edward in Wales or London. I'm guessing he could have died young but don't know for sure.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much
Vicky
