Glamorganshire Resources & Offers / Missing ancestor: Justinian H Jones
« on: Thursday 29 October 20 12:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all,

I have been searching for records for my G G Uncle, Justinian H Jones, who was born in 1912 in Pontypridd. Aside from his birth record, I am unable to locate any other information about him after his birth, despite extensive searches. I am hoping another set of eyes may help!

Please can you help find Justinian?

Thanks,

Colleen

Hello all,

I am trying, to no avail, to locate the whereabouts of my husband's GG Aunt, Caroline Elizabeth Brooks. Caroline was born 06/11/1891 in Bootle. She was a twin and she was disabled however her disability is not listed on any of the censuses.

After 1911 Caroline doesn't appear in any electoral searches, however her twin Louisa Rickard Constable (nee Brooks) took out an insurance policy on Caroline in 1930 and she is listed as living with Louisa and Louisa's husband Thomas at 68 Adlam Road, Toxteth.

There are no other records for Caroline and I can't locate a marriage or death record for her. She seems to have just disappeared!

Please can anyone help me find her?

Many thanks,

Colleen

Hi Bitzar,

Thank you for the reply and the link. I have no idea where his name came from - there doesn't seem to be any more members of his family with the same name, but I have only just begun to trace his lineage so I will let you know what I discover.

He was from Sunderland I believe, he was certainly there in 1939.

That newspaper photo is available online but you will need access to FindMyPast or the British Newspaper Archive.

The POW information is in his CWGC entry https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/4007501/hutchinson,-surtees/   scroll down to the Concentration tab.  The cemetery details information is worth a look too.

Forgot the link to Makassar camp, the link I gave mentions Raha  As many as 174 POWs died in Raha and during the transports to Makassar.

Click also on the camp list in blue to see the listings.

There's a photo of him in the Sunderland Daily Echo of 1 December 1945, page 3, "Roll of Honour".
Oh thank you for this information! Is this available online?
