« on: Wednesday 11 August 04 19:36 BST (UK)  »
recently i visited bielby to look at the memorial , as well as listing who died in the war it says:-

The following also served and returned to the village

Barber R.                         Pitchers A.W.
Dewsbury W.E.                Robinson A.
Hutchinson G.F.                Shepherdson G.
Holdridge F.                      Stainton  A.
Lazenby W.                       Thompson  R.
Lund A.                              Robinson V.

I know A. Lund served in WW1 . Dont know if that applies to all the names.
Hope this information will be of use to someone

The Common Room / Re: Will RootsChat be of help to you?
« on: Sunday 08 August 04 21:41 BST (UK)  »
i think this site is brilliant. i found it by accident really. was on another site when a link came up, so i looked. I have been stuck on both mine and my husband's trees. within 3 days of posting a question on this site i had full information for relatives and census details.

The people on here are all so helpful if at all possible, want to say a big  thankyou to "Liam" for all his help.

The Lighter Side / Re: What might you name your children?
« on: Friday 06 August 04 21:21 BST (UK)  »
my eldest son is named after his dad and grandad(dennis),( i then remarried) my second son is named after his grandad( robert david), my third son is named after uncles (benjamin james) and with my twin daughters we just went through the baby names book until we found names we both liked.
(stephanie louise and kathryn annie). but annie was my grandmother's name.

The Common Room / Re: So many Deaths.......
« on: Thursday 05 August 04 22:44 BST (UK)  »
like many people in my family i too have lost a child, he lived for only eight weeks. At the time i was really heartbrocken but now after 14 years it's not so bad. Most of my family has lost at least one child, all my aunties+uncles and grandparents. Maybe it's something genetic? Even now there is still no explanation of cot death.

sorry i thought you meant for your family tree.

the only suggestion i have is to write down the name of the person and what they want as soon as you get it.

sorry i cant be more helpful :(
