Thanks for the help everyone! I have successfully found both's families.

I wasn't aware about that in regards to Baptists either.

Thank you :)

Thanks for looking!

Guess I will just have to apply for the certificate.

I am trying to figure out who their parents were - Ann Lee was born in 1852 in Honley (Huddersfield district) and George Feargus Brooke was born in 1842 in Lockwood (Huddersfield district).

Hey all!

I am looking for the marriage of George Fergus Brooke (aka George Feargus Brook) and Ann Lee in parish records. They married in 1874 in Huddersfield. George was from Lockwood, Ann from Honley.

I have found the above marriage in the BMD index, however I was wondering if someone were able to look up the marriage in the parish records?

Any help greatly appreciated :)

It would be nice if his given name wasn't changed!

It was Raymond. Adoptive surname Crouch.

Ahh okay.

That's unfortunate!

I am researching an adoption and it is before adoptions were a government matter. I know his date and place of birth from his war record (and correspondence sent between the military and his adopted father after his death).

Australia / Victoria's BDM Records - Date Specific?

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had any idea how I could access a list of all males born in Richmond, Victoria on the 24th of April 1898?

The Victorian Registry of BDM said that this wasn't possible - however would it be possible using some of the old BDM Cd's? or perhaps some other method?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks Debbie!

Do you have access to the marriages for Kingston Bagpuize as well? The IGI only has up till 1812 - I am wondering if you could look up the marriage of John Tame to his wife Mary, they had their first son William Tame in 1821 and were both born around 1799 so they probably married in around 1815-1820.

If not, how would I go about accessing these?

Thanks again :)

It seems Jane was living in Oxford St Peter in The East in 1851 and working as a servant - there is a John Haines living in Oxford St Michael in the same year.

I have never had to look at bastardy orders before - how does one go about accessing these?

I am sorry everyone, I have misread Debbie's original post.

I note it says who his mother is and that she was a singlewoman - I didn't see this at the time in my research fervor.

I will definitely investigate this further and see if I can find a marriage for Jane.

Out of interest Debbie how are you accessing the Kingston Bagpuize baptisms?
