I think the only way of knowing Sean's true parentage is the birth cert but I have doubts about it naming Frances as the mother as the index records mmn Andrew.

SS

I don't think that Sean is Frances's' son,but was chosen to be an executor of her will along with Mrs Payne as 'sensible' members of her family. I think Sean is Paul's nephew.

Just found these entries  - do you think they might be a possibility for Sean & Mabel?

Enfield Memorial Park, Australia
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/170591861/sean-andrew-smith - died age 74 on 2 April 1999
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/170413777/mabel-smith - died age 78 4 April 2000

Well found Ladyhawk, is an engineer 20 years on likely to be the same chap as a turner ( on Frances's probate records) in 1950?

Where is she in 1939? I have failed completely to find her on Ancestry, and I think someone else has said the same thing

I couldn't find her either on Ancestry then I tried Mary Walker 1906 Middlesex
Frances can be found easily on F M P - Frances Smith 1891 Harrow U.D. Middlesex

I found Frances easily on the 1939 website by entering the address.

I'll also have a winge about Ancestry's indexing on the London electoral registers. Sean is there, but his address is wrong on every single entry!

She is Frances Smith with a DOB of  02 Apr 1891 @ 72 Constable Gdns, Edgware.

There is reference to Smith at 72 Constable Gardens here www.haine.org.uk/toms_wills/wills_data.php?parish=Middlesex&page=24

Their notes include the following detail for that entry: The record you selected is of grantor named SMITH Frances of the district of Middlesex with the grant issued in 1950.

Sorry, I was having a moment. I thought that I would get an email telling me that my image was ready to view online. I didn't realise it would be immediate, so when I got the order confirmation email, I just left it. Days later I checked it clicked on the link button and realised it had been there for days. Very pleased ,really good images.

Ah jolly good. We all thought you must be doing something wrong. Good job you asked.

I was very surprised that it was so immediate.
