A friend has just asked me to look at the baptisms at St Paul's Canonbury, Islington in 1917.

Fantastic information - a lot of military personnel, so rank, etc. PLUS previous employment occupation.  And we have twins, so the time of birth registered for them, as well as the date of birth for all the entries.  Almost as good as the Dade Registers of the late 18th century.   ;D ;D

The Common Room / Marriage by Certificate 1933

My parents were married in 1933 by "Certificate".  My father had moved to Cheshire with his parents, my mother was living in Halifax with her mother.  The marriage took place in Halifax - King Cross Methodist Chapel - and is said to be by Certificate.

I'm assuming that "Certificate" is similar to "Licence"  :-\  Would there have been additional paperwork, similar to Bond/Allegation, or not?

I have now received Kitty's will, dated 1932, and also discounted the Kitty Marshall I found in Northamptonshire

I am attempting to find Kitty's burial in Harrogate - her will states that she has the "grave certificate".

Kitty was born in 1877, the daughter of George Marshall and Jane Kendall.  1911 census has her living at home with her parents in Shipley.

Her will, dated 1932 states that her address is The Yorkshire Home, Cornwall Road, Harrogate, and that is the address shown for her in 1938 when probate was granted.

Her parents are buried in Owlet Road Cemetery, Windhill, but Kitty is not with them.  I have searched Ancestry, FindMyPast, Findagrave, Billiongraves to no avail, nor can I see anything via the newspaper archives on FindMyPast. 

Does anyone have any thoughts, please?  :-*

Although this newspaper appears on FindMyPast, unfortunately the item I would like to view is cut in half.

Deaths - page 20 - Marshall - Kitty.

Does anyone have an alternative source for this newspaper, so that a more complete version of the entry might be available?

Any help gratefully received.

Does anyone have any idea how I can obtain photographs of memorials?  I have asked billiongraves and findagrave, but no luck.

Surname in all cases is ARCHBELL.

George Thomas - died 19 July 1946.  Wife = Mary Elizabeth - died 30 October 1943
Harold - died 23 July 1974.  Wife = Lilian - died 16 December 1967
Kenneth George - died 23 March 1973 (died in Palm Beach, but ashes in the family grave).  Wife 1 = Marjorie, died 9 July 1950.  Wife 2 = Isabel - died 16 March 1991

Not sure that the latest deaths will be recorded yet - earlier this year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just wondering whether anyone has access to these records.

I have obtained a date from somewhere (and noted that it needs verification) for a baptism:

Joseph Appleyard - 13 March 1803

I am looking for confirmation that his father is Wadsworth Appleyard - mother (if named) would be Mary.

Any help gratefully accepted.

I'm hoping that I haven't asked this question before!  Forgive me if I have  :-[

I'd be grateful for an estimation of the date that this photograph was taken.  My mother is the eldest of these three girls, and she was born in 1911.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
