Glamorganshire / Burial help please
« on: Friday 06 August 10 12:04 BST (UK)  »
Before I go ahead an order these death certificates could anyone locate or advise as to where these two people might have been buried  :-\

Both deaths registered CARDIFF district but living in Cadoxton, Barry 1901 - 1914 (not sure about Rose LOVESEY - not with father & mother on 1911c but still in Cardiff district)

Charles LOVESEY died age 82 Jun q 1918 bn1836

Rose LOVSEY died age 22 Mar q 1913 bn 1890 (believe her to be his daughter)

Thought originally she had married in Dec q 1921 Cardiff district as there's an entry for Rose M LOVESY but this must be her mother, they both had the same name of Rose Maria

Thanks for any help - appreciated  :)

Glamorganshire / Help please 1891 census
« on: Sunday 01 August 10 09:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Some time ago I posted a request and was looking for Mary SMITH bn Cardiff on 1891 census, an entry was found for a Mary Ann SMITH patient bn Swansea occ hawker but not entirely convinced this is the Mary SMITH married to James that I'm looking for, so I'm trying again.

Have linked my post from Cornwall board about her husband James

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=471579.msg3316226#msg3316226

If it's not too big a task and as  I don't have access to the census, would someone kindly do another look up for James SMITH's wife Mary on the 1891 census, she's probably listed as a visitor or relative.

Rather than starting from their marriage in 1880, I thought I'd try a different approach and start from 1911 census and work backwards

1911

age 50 (1861) Cardiff

1901
age 38 (1863) Glamorgan Cardiff
( has the middle initial J this could be an error as her dau. was Mary J )

1891

age should be 28/30

1881

age 25 Cardiff Glamorgan
(if above ages are correct on 1901/1911 census she should  be around 18 - 20 years old in 1881/1880)  Huh

1880

age on marriage cert. 26 years (should this be 16 - 19)  Huh
father William deceased  (Don't think she lied about his name as their first son was named William Henry)

Don't know if this will be of any help in tracing Mary on 1891c  :-\

James & Mary's children William Henry & Mary Jane visiting on 1891c administrative district Cardiff St. Nicholas

Their father James bn Cornwall occ. Lab married on his own on 1891 census Cardiff St. Nicholas.

They had one other child Frederick but he died in infancy around 1887 in Cardiff St. Nicholas

Thank you for you time  :)

Trying again to see if anyone can help James on census from 1871 - 1851 and possible a record of his baptism in Cornwall - have all census info. from 1881 to 1911

1911 age 67 (1851) Cornwall occ. lab (wife's age 50 - 1861) married 31yrs
1901 age 56 (1845)   "                  "   (  "        "    38 - 1863)
1891 age 45 (1846)   "                  "   (       " ""       ?)
1881 age 37 (1844) DROUTH Cornwall Lab. (wife's age 25 - 1856)
1880 age 32 (1848) (wife's age 26 - 1854)
marriage Registry Office,  bachelor, occ. Haulier, father Thomas (deceased) miner, (X) the mark of James Henry Smith
