This site is fully searchable.
It includes British men who had emigrated and enlisted and fought for Britain in WW1.Attestation Papers showing Place of Birth; Next of Kin ; Address in Britain/Ireland; Personal description and a whole lot more.
If you can find no trace of a family or an individual they may have emigrated to Canada.
There are many databases that are full of British People.
