Just noticed that in 1891, Floranna and William Symington are living just next door to the John and Sarah found above.

Well spotted Tanja I missed it ::)
I think that is a good pointer that your 1871 entry was correct. This was the only Floranna Symington I have been able to find and the marriage entry shows she was a Richardson before her marriage.
I don't see what more we can do at this point in time as I still haven't been able to find the 1901 entry for Mary and Thomas Heslop to check on her birthdate and birthplace. ???

Nessie, I missed it too the first ca. 5 times ;D that I viewed the image.

Unfortunately, I can't trace daughter Mary Gillespie or grandson William on later census returns...
This Mary would be about 5 years out... perhaps a little much, huh?

Well, Maggie, I think we need your help!

Hi Tati

Many thanks for all that you have done for me.  The Florence Heslop that is lodging with the Knox famiy is not my Florence as she was not a school teacher.  According to Thomasand Marys marriage cert.  Mary was 28 yrs old when she got married in MARCH 1882.  The address that she lived at was Pudding Chase (or Chare) Newcastle.  I also said that I was unable to find them on the 1901 census.

I also said that I was unable to find them on the 1901 census.

Yes, that's what I had understood at first but then you say somewhere you have a printout of Thomas and Mary in 1901. This is the part I obviously misunderstood.

www.ancestry.co.uk allows you to search the 1881 census by address. Unfortunately, no Richardson's or Heslop's at Pudding Chare in Newcastle.

1891 or 1901 don't have a single person born Agshill. The Flor*'s born Earsdon all have different parents. No Flo* Heslop born ca. 1887. No matching Mary Heslop b. ca. 1854.

Sorry, I think I have run out of ideas.
