Looking for Wingroves in Bucks
« on: Saturday 03 December 05 06:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi, My name is Nick Wingrove and I live in Canada, I have been researching my family tree for about a year now. I have gotten some very reliable information from some very good sources on the Wingrove family. I am reasonably certain that I can trace my family back to William Wingrove b, Feb 14 1732 and Sarah Westfield b. ? in Wooburn Bucks. I have information from other unconfirmed soursce that go back to Jerome Jeromy Wingrove b. 1585 in Penn, Bucks who married Mary Marie in 1608. I have found rootschat to be a very good source for finding information about my family, so I thought I would give this a shot and see if there are any Wingroves or Wingrove experts out there who might be able to help me verify the information that I already have.

  Any takers, Nick

Hi Tazzi, My G/G/Grandfather was William Wingrove born in Wooburn abt. 1832 son of William Wingrove b. 1791 in Wooburn and Cornelia Galbreath b. 1799 in Islington London. He marrried Eliza Pope in Camden town in 1856 but he may have still lived in Wooburn in 1851

I believe they may have lived in or around Tylers Green in Bucks in 1851 becuase he had a son named George from his first marriage to Ann Joyner there in 1852 if that is any help. I don't know if Tylers Green is near Wooburn or not

Hi Nick,

Tylers Green is about 5miles from Wooburn as the crow flies. They are parted from each other by the M40. I cannot find a William of the right age -i.e. born 1832 (19 years) for 1851. Any ideas on the age or details of Ann to see where she was around this time?

According to the the records I have William was born in Wooburn in 1832 and died in Hemel Hemstead ( where you guys just had that big fireball ) in 1887. I'm a liitle curious about Ann, if she was born in 1836 that means she was only 16 when she gave birth to Charles in 1852. That's a little creepy don't you think or was that normal back in those days? :o
