Hello Willowwah & thank you for your reply

If you could do that for me I would be pleased. Such alot of my Vessey Decendents lived born and died in Horncastle Horkstow area.
I am hoping to come to England sometime this year and look around some of my ancestors villages. Mostly in Lincolnshire. etc. I live in New Zealand
I would be interested to know if the Cemetery in fact does still exist.
In anticipation

Hi
Yes there is a graveyard there....

The antiques centre is in what was the Church building
there's also St Marys church which is still in use

I'll take my digital camera with me (Monday hopefully) and show you what the Trinity centre is now.

I'll see what grave stones are around there

Theres also a central graveyard (modern I think) on the Boston rd

ps What are your village in Lincolnshire??

Would you really do this for me,
I dont want to take you out of your way  but if you could take a shot of the Cemetery /Church it would mean a lot to me

Any VESSEY in that cemetery is mine.

Charles Vessey born 1812 Horsington was the son  William & Mary East
and there were six  others in the family all born in lHorncastle

Charles Vessey married Eliza Evison  died 1878  & 1887 They  had 10 children all born in Horncastle so there are plenty of them

I know Charles & Eliza had a daughter Charlotte  Vessey born 1840 died 1841 and she was buried in the Horncastle Cemetery
also another daughter Eliza  Vessey died  1912 aged 76 not married is buried there also

It would be wonderful if you could get a snap shot, as in doing this research over the years, I feel as if I have come to know all these  faceless people & to be able to put a picture of sorts would be the icing on the cake.

Because I have  resourced my immediate line I am now going on to other branches & it is becoming a nightmare with all the Williams Charles & Eliza.s. but I won,t stop.  am enjoying it too much

Regards

Sorry to hear about your dad
I hope he is  well on the way to recovery.
Of course there is no pressure.
I quite understand.
Keep your spirits up

Former church was built as a chapel of ease to the parish church of St Mary's and was completed in 1848. Finally declared redundant in 1972 it was abandoned and left without maintenance. Restored by Heritage Lincolnshire. Now an Antique & Collectables Centre.
