How to research Whittles from 1900 to present day????
« on: Saturday 28 January 06 17:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi:  I would like to take my 1901 information on my relatives who were names Whittle and see if I can find information leading up to some relatives of today...Is that possible?  One big stumbling block is...I live in Canada so it would have to be over the net....

Hi

Your first starting point is from you, then your parents and so on back to when your family first arrived in Canada. You would need Birth and Marriage certificates of the people that came from the UK. you would need to give this info. to whoever is going to look them up for you in the UK.

Well, I've got me, and I've found out about my father's father (even though I've never met my father) and I've got his father's father and that one's father...but, unfortunately, all my grandfather's siblings are still young when the 1901 census occurred...and I''ve spent all the money I can....the rest will have to fall to future generations to do....Thanks for the response...

Hi Wendy

If you would care to email me what info. you have on the people that left the UK for Canada, I am quite prepaired to try to find them for you.
Being retired gives me time a plenty to do research, and it is free.

hi,wendysu,
my mother was a Whittle before she married .
I have traced her family back to 1841
They were always from the Wigan, LANCASHIRE area .
My mother was born in 1912 and died in 1999.
If you think this could be of any help and I can furnish you with any  info I certainly will.
