Rheidol Place - Aberystwyth
« on: Monday 06 February 06 11:08 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me if Rheidol Place still exists in Aberystwyth.   As far as I'm aware it overlooked the harbour and was demolished over 30 years ago to make room for blocks of apartments.
Please confirm.
Cheers Dave

Hi Davierj

I found out that Rheidol Place was infact demolshed and replaced with sheltered housing and now callee Rheidol Falls.
I've been sending some letters out to see if anyone is related to me and got some interesting information back,  but none of them are related.

Hi Kerry

Thanks for the info, it's confirmed my suspicions.   In the dim and distant past I remember the apartments being built.   By combining those memories with an old map of Aber, I suspected that they were built on Rheidol Place.

I remember at the time thinking what a wonderful view they had over the old harbour (now a marina also) and the Iron Age hill fort of Pen Dinas.

Cheers Dave
