Chiswick - Technical Schools circa 1910

My grandfather was born in 1892 and resided on Dale Street in Chiswick.  He emigrated to Canada in 1910 or 1911.  Before he left he supposedly received technical school training that prepared him for work as a machinist.  Does anyone know of such a school in the area at that time?
