On the off chance anyone is still monitoring this thread, Benjamin Newbatt who's mother Elizabeth hailed from Grantham in Lincolnshire was a family friend of my g-g-g-grandfather who I am researching and turns up in his will. Benjamin appears to have married very late in life and then died in Italy in the 1890s. He was president of the institute of actuaries. If anyone has come across him or has more information I would be interested in hearing more about this man. With thanks.
