On behalf of a friend - I'm looking for any record of a Joseph Standing Ashley born 25 January 1884 in Islington.

He served with the Royal Fusiliers (spelling?) in South Africa in 1901/02 maybe in the mounted infantry.

Sorry I cannot be more precise but does anyone have any information on this person.

I'm wondering what sort of information you're looking for?  Census entries?

Since it is also of a military nature I'll move this to the Armed Forces board where they may be able to help out.
