Fintona/Weldon
« on: Tuesday 21 March 06 13:15 GMT (UK) »
Could anyone help me please? I'm tracing Robert Weldon of Fintona and his son born around 1833 named Andrew Weldon. Andrew married Jane Crawford on 4.1.1855 and was a farmer. I think he died young after having a son Robert. His wife then went to Liverpool to work. I'm also looking for Jane's father called Edward also from Clogher and his wife. Any ideas would be gratefully received!

This site shows Weldon heads of household living in Co. Tyrone
during the time of Griffiths Valuation of the County in 1851

The site below mentions an Andrew Weldon -

An old thread I know, but nothing ventured...

I too have an interest in the Weldon surname of Fintona, Tyrone.  My own 5xGr Grandfather Francis Weldon is listed as living in Drafton townland in 1827.  I don't yet know much about him other than he had at least two children (Francis and Elizabeth) who must've been born in the early 1800s.  Elizabeth died (apparently unmarried) in Fintona in 1843. Francis married Charlotte Mussen in Lisburn in 1832 and (it seems) did not live in the Fintona area after that.

As always, any information, links or pointers would be VERY welcome!

I too am currently looking for information on Francis Weldon, or rather his father Francis Weldon, who married a lady named Esther so I've read. I want to trace back further as I have recently discovered a family tree on WikiTree. Francis Weldon who died in 1838 is my 6x great grandfather

This is as far back as the tree goes
