I did look by name but there are no liverpool cemetries listed as far as i can see. But nothing with william i or ivor at all.

Just a though't,

Your grandfather obviously fathered children if it is possible ask the ones who got married if he was down as deceased at time they got married that may just help to narrow down the search. 

Can I ask why are you certain he died between the years you specify?

Is it possible he died during the war years or woudl he have been too old for active duty then?

Hi Wendy,

Well you see that's the problem. He has been "lost" since the 1920's and I just don't know if he had other children. I managed to get a birth certificate for him and merchant seamans paper's but that's it.

A few folks here looked through 1837online for me for a possible death certificate for him but since his name was William Jones I can't be entirely sure we got the right one although we used the middle initial in the search and went through from 1927-1972. South Liverpool is indicated as a place of death for the DC and the age at death fits as well.

Only 2 persons fit the age criteria and since I know he worked out of Liverpool in the '20 I have been going on the assumption he must have continued living there. I could be ALL wrong, of course, with this direction of my search.

Hello Listers,

If I order St. Catherines Index on microfiche at an LDS center can it be ordered for a specific area such as Lancashire for example?

I still have not been successful in finding a death certificate for my William Jones. He died sometime between 1928 and 1972 and I am now going on the assumption that it was somewhere in the Merseyside area.

Does 1837online indicate a place or age at death next to names before charging for viewing the records? About how much is a tenner equal to in US dollars? Is that how much it would cost each time I viewed each record or is there only a charge per quarter?
