1851 SPEED Salford Lancashire

In 1861 George SPEED born 1802 lived at 6 Marshall Street Salford with his wife Ann and several children.

In 1841 he lived at 60 Blackburn Place, Salford with Ann and more children. On the 1841 I found children from a previous marriage for George which I hadn't known even existed. 

I'm really curious to see the data from 1851 if anyone can locate it.

There are only two entries in the 1851 index for the name Speed in Salford for 1851, neither of them names George.

The only George  Speed I can find in 1851 (born 1797-1807 with wife Ann)  was born and living in Pontefract.

Is it worh giving us some of the kids names to see if we can find them? Or could the family be in Scotland or Wales? What was George's occupation?

Thanks to all those who had a look for my elusive Speeds.

It is the 'water damaged' lot that belong to me.  The name of Jabez is so unique that it has often helped me to trace this line, and confirms it this time as well.

It very nicely fills a gap.

Rather a late response to this post, but my ancestor Joseph KAY and his family lived at 2 Marshall Street, Greengate, Salford, in 1861.

He had previously worked as a bleacher at Horrobin Mill, in Turton township near Bolton, and moved from there to Greengate with his family in the mid-1850s.

In 1874 he died in an accident at work at the Broughton Dye Works - he was discovered with unexplained head injuries. This was a business owned by Samuel Dewhurst & Co, who were bleachers, dyers, [cotton] printers, manufacturers of cloth for bookbinders, beetle-finishers, cotton spinners and manufacturers at Adelphi Street & Blackburn Street [the two streets adjoin on the banks of the Irwell.
