Quakers info. req'd, please

G'day.........     this is an update to the request I posted recently,  regarding  the STABLES family.  I have been told that the Stables family were Quakers in either Kirkby Lonsdale   or   Ulverstone,  and that the Quakers kept their own records.   
Is this correct?    Are the records available?
Any leads on this would be very much appreciated.    Thanks,  B.

The Quakers, founded by George Fox in the mid 17th century were the most record conscious of all Nonconformists. Before finally handing over all their registers 1445 books in 1840 and another 121 in 1857 - Digests were made of the entries, some of which date from 1600. 
Of these 26,000 are births not baptisms.  A complete set of these digests is kept at the Library of the Society of Friends, Friends House, Euston Road. London NWI 2BJ.  They have been microfilmed and county sections may be available in libraries and record offices.
