Hi Linda

"I am looking for the family of Ellen Mary Elizabeth Jones who was born Mar 31, 1861 in Flint, Holywell, Flintshire. She married Richard Parry in Holywell about 1882".

Just looked on the 1881 Census (cd collection) - there are
313 people called Richard Parry in Wales and
3458 people called Ellen Jones - with 161 of them born 1861 or 1 year either side.

Can you give me a little more info to go on please.

On the 1891 Census (on line)

RG12/ 4604/ Folio 75 / Page 8 - Ross Place, Whitfield, Flintshire

PARRY Richard, Head, Marr, 32, Bank Accountant, born Denbighshire
Ellen E M, Wife, Marr, 30, born Holywell, Flintshhire
John N H, Son, Unm, 7, Scholar, born Newmarket, Flintshire
Richard N, Son, Unm, 4, Scholar, born Whitford, Flintshire
Elizabeth E M, Dau, Unm, 2, born Caerwys, Flintshire

(They certainly moved about a bit - each child born in a different place)

Hello,

Thank you for your response. The family you have there for 1891 is the right family.

All I can tell you is that Richard should be in Llangernyw / Llangerniew, Denbigh in 1861 with his family. He would only be a year or 2 old. Llangernyw is a small village but someone would have to have the census to look through it. Unfortunately in 1881 when he might still have been at home he went to Liverpool to train to be a bank clerk.

I wish I had more but right now that is all I have. I have sent a request for a search for the marriage registration of Richard and Ellen and am hoping the names of their parents are recorded on it.

Thanks,
Linda Herman

I can't begin to tell you how excited I was this morning to read the information on your ancestors! I think that we may have the same ancestors, I've been trying to get any information on my great great grandfather who was born in Llanwchymor Whitford, Flint in 1852 his name was Edwin Jones and his father was William Jones an accountant and his mother Ann Jones also formely Jones. Please be kind enough to advise whether this is the same family.

I have Jones ancesters from Holywell.  My gt/gt/grandfather was William Jones born 1830 from Whitford.  He married Harriet nee Jones born 1831 from Cilcen.  They lived in Hollywell and raised a family.  They were Market Gardeners, any connection, from Maureen.
