Hi,

In 1881 William COUZENS (b 1824 Bruton, Somerset) - Draper - was living at Edward St, Westbury with wife Eleanor, and children: Ellen Elizabeth (b 1856), Albert E (b 1863) and Arthur R (1867)
.
There was a son John Robert (b 1853) but in 1881 he was living in NZ.

I would like to know where this family lived, and who resided there, in 1871.

Thankyou for this 1871 Census information. Still no sign of John Robert, but there is a Charles, Ernest and an Emily I didn't know about.

Do William and Eleanor appear in Westbury in the 1861 Census if you would mind looking please? Thankyou. I am also trying to find out when John Robert left for NZ. Thankyou.

Thankyou. You have now confirmed that John Robert was in Westbury in 1871 so that narrows the field to find when he came to NZ. He was a Butcher when he settled here and also a Publican.

I am wondering where in NZ your Couzins lived. I have a Caroline Maria Couzins born 5 Aug 1872 who married Sir Ernest Andrews in Christchurch 14 Mar 1900. I had information on the Andrews family,  I am trying to find who Caroline parents were. Any possible connection.

The COUZENS family I am serching for lived in Christchurch and Auckland, NZ. Many later moved to the USA. I can not help with your Caroline as my John Robert COUZENS was married in Christchurch in 1881 and I am tring to find out when he arrived in NZ.

Have you checked for an obituary for Sir Ernest Andrews? They usually give brief details of the spouse and family.
