Deaths Look Up Please Taranakaki NZ
« on: Wednesday 12 July 06 11:06 BST (UK) »
Is anyone able to look up the following deaths to find the year of death  for

All deaths should be in Taranaki District (probably Patea or New Plymouth)

Henry Mercer b Kent 1848 arrived NZ 1875 and alive in 1880 as one known son then. We have checked from 1886-1900 and didn't find anything for a Henry, but would appreciate someone checking from 1875-1879 and from 1901 on.

Ellen Mercer b Kent 1848 arrived NZ 1875

Edward Mercer born around 1828 Kent arrived in NZ 1875

Mary A Mercer b Kent around 1832 arrived NZ 1875

The last three could have died  anytime from 1875 on.

Many Thanks

Hi SueChris

Have you checked the MERCER's on the  South Taranaki Cemetery Database?
http://www.stdc.co.nz/index.php?page=home.php

There is a Harry MERCER listed there interred I think 1898, but the plot or the headstone may have been moved later at which time their database records the "re-burial" as a "date of Death"- a Mary J MERCER appears to be in the plot next to Harry.

Cheers

Thanks Ambly, yes we have come accross this site.  I don't think Harry is our Henry and Mary J should be Mary A, but some of the others buried there are family members.
