County Hotel

Does anyone know the any information or the address of the County Hotel in Ayrshire? My Mother seems to remember it being near the coast but has lost the address. I can't find anything doing a general internet search or from the Yellow Pages.

Any information would be helpful.

Hi Amy,

There used to be a County Hotel in Wellington Square in Ayr, Ayrshire.  If that's any help.  The telephone number was 01292 263368.

It was near the sea.

The County Hotel was indeed in Wellington Square, Ayr near the beach.  Sadly it closed a few years ago and is now flats. :)

I know, it's so sad. I saw one of the flats up for sale a little while ago but I would have loved to have a look around before it was sold as it used to belong to my mothers family.

I must say I do prefer how it looks today, although it would be nicer if it was still an hotel

There used to be a side entrance,you went downstairs to a function room called the Harlequin,hubby and I used to go on Saturday evenings in the early seventies.
