This does look like Edward Armstrong and son John.  Edward was a woodman in the baptism record.  And Ann was most likely a second wife as I suspected in your post from yesterday

Remember that John Armstrong was only baptised in Slaley, he was born in the parish of Bywell

I wonder if the one I am chasing is related to the same family?

The one I am looking for was born in 1956 and Christened in 1957 and is entered on the Durhamonline web site but I can't find a record of him anywhere else.
