I've been looking for these too. No luck yet, but if anything turns up I'll let you know.

Do not know if this will help but it seems the cem is near Blackwood.

Check page 11 on the link, it is mentioned in a poem that schoolchilren wrote, descibes the area it is in.

yes it was knocked down about 30 years ago but the cemetery is still visited.
Cwrt y bella also had a school and a community of mining cottages stretching to the colliers arms at the gwrhay. However its access to these records that i'm trying to get

I emailed the diocesan secretary about the records. I had a curt reply "get in touch with the Rector of Bedwellty." Been there, done that, no reply. I'm now going to try the Dean. He doesn't have an email addy so I'll give him a bell tonight. Let you know what I discover!

I live in NZ, but have relatives buried at Cwrt y Bella Cemetery, near Oakdale, Gwent, but do not know how to find a record of them. They are Edmund Jones d. 1960, Edith Jones d.1961, and their daughter Rita Brown d.1975. I visited the site once in the early 80s and recall that the stone was near one of the entrance gates.

I found a photo of the site on:http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1734847

Any help would be appreciated.

Cwrt-y-Bella (also referred to as Court-y-bella) graveyard is at the Gwrhay, near Argoed (Blackwood, Gwent / Monmouthshire). It was the church of Saints Philip and James (built 1853-8) but now demolished. The graveyard is still there and is now under the jurisdiction of St David's Church, Penmaen, Oakdale. The parish is known as Penmaen. Baptisms, marriages and burial records are held I believe by Gwent Records Office http://www.gwentarchives.gov.uk/ they list that they have baptisms 1852 - 1934 marriages1858 - 1971 and burials 1858 - 1930. The Gwent Family History Society might be able to help too - I think they have CDs of records. Hope that is of some help.
