Hello

I  have  had  a check  of  the Sa  index  births  up  to  1906
I dont  have  the  next  one

and  cant  see a birth  for  either  ellen  or charlotte

the  marriage  bob  has  given  you  I  think  the groom  is  too  young  for  your bloke  plus  none  of  the  kids  names  tie  in

you  have  given us  the daughter  Charlotte's  marrried  name  so  you  have  some  family  records, do  you  now what area  of South Australia

it  is  possible  he  moved  interstate

regards jenn

I agree, we need more information here. I can see nothing in Births to 1928 or marriages to 1937. No marriage of Charlotte to Holden either.....Kris  :'(

Hi all,
Thanks Kris for alerting me to this thread  :D

I will be at work later on and can have a look in the books I've got there, to see if I can spot the first photographer (Mr Stump - how alluring  ::)  )

At a glance I'd say the second photo is from the 1880s, not sure about the first one yet but will do some sleuthing  :)

Hmmm...first photo I was going to say mid-late 1890s, judging by what I can see of the shoulders and sleeves, but the hair is very severe for that date (looser styles were in fashion) and the little hat thing (would we call that a "fascinator" these days?  ;D ) also throws me off a bit.

Thanks Prue, that would be great.  ;D I still can't find anything at all in our records but if that photo is from the 1880's then perhaps Ellen is the mother and not the daughter  :-\ and maybe Charlotte was already married when they arrived here.   ??? If I get a chance I will pop into the library today and have a look for some later deaths.....Kris   ;)
