Bridget Elizabeth Horrigan married Henry Johnson 10/12/1906, Henry was aged 38 and Bridget was aged 34 (divorced)
Henry's father was listed as Henry teague
What I am looking for is Henry Johnson's birth and his parents names, I am thinking that his mother might of remarried and that is why he has a diffrent name to his father.
Any help would be appreciated.

(Bridget and Henry married twice, once before 1906, Bridget first husband dissappeared and so she presumed he was dead and remarried then he turned back up)

Do you have  a mother's name for Henry? I cannot find anything likely for him in the SA births.  No Henry Teague as a father to anyone - some with Henry as a middle name.

And perhaps we should mention that on the first marriage - as Johnson - he named his father as Richard Johnson.  This may help.

the  marriage  was  recorded  twice under  both  names  of Teague  and Johnson  under  the X symbol  as  he  johnson  used the  name  henry  teague  as an  alias

his maritial  status says  he is  divorced

Hi everyone, thank you for your help, it is all very confusing isn't it.
What I Know is that John William Savage disappeared early on in the marriage to Bridget and then she remarried.
If John Savage disappeared right after Myrtle Annie was born then she would of had to wait seven years to declare him dead which adds up to her first marriage to Henry Johnson in 1901.  So what I think is that she shacked up with Henry Johnson and all the following children are really his but Bridget has used Savage as the father because she might have been embarrassed because she was not married to him, What do you all think?

Does anyone know if there is away to find records  of someone being declared dead? And what about divorce records, where could I find them?

Family stories tell me that  when John Savage turned back up he remarried and started a new family himself. (My Grandmother was Myrtle) so this branch of the family would be my rellies too.

Is there any record of a Henry Johnson being born in SA with the father as Richard?

I love a family  scandal and I look forward to solving this one.

no  other  births  for  father being listed as John William Savage upt to 1906  nor  another marriage  up  to 1916

bridget  married  savage  16/12/1892

now  unless  he shot  through  pretty  well after  the ceremony  there  must be a  good  chance  that  Myrtle is a Savage having been born  19/11/1893

Hi Jenn, Yes I was thinking that Myrtle was a savage but the rest might be Johnson's including the ones that have savage as a surname for example Ivy Savage born in 1897 after Henry Johnson born 1896.
It is all very confusing.
Interesting to know that John Savage didnt marry again (well before 1916 anyway).
