Please note that the scheme was  launched in December 2006.  We now have 120 parishes and villages covered by the project.  Our searchable on-line database contains over 180,000 records and is growing steadily. Bear in mind that OPCs are volunteers, giving their time freely to improve the ease of access to parish information. Please treat them with courtesy and be patient, the scheme is in its infancy - and if you have a little time on your hands, an offer of help with transcription work will , I am sure, be welcomed!  Also remember that the OPC may not live anywhere near their “adopted” parish - we have volunteers worldwide!

An OPC is a volunteer and should not be confused with the civil Parish Clerk appointed by a Parish Council
