Ellard of Willoughby
« on: Friday 19 November 04 20:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I wonder if there is any kind person able to shed any light at all on a family from Willoughby, Warwickshire. The only information I have is the name Henry Ellard born there around 1845.

Any information will be gratefully received

Many thanks

Hi William,

Here is your Henry on the 1851 census.

I will look for the family on the 1841 when I have a chance.

They seem to be the only Ellards in Willoughby/Rugby area

Hi William,
Here are your Ellards on the 1841 census.

Willoughby, Warwickshire
(no street address)
William Ellard   35   Clerk    Yes (born in county)
Mariah Ellard    35               Y
William Ellard    12               Y
Jane Ellard   10                    Y
Alice Ellard   6                      Y
John Ellard 5                        Y
Edward Ellard 3                   Y
Joseph Ellard 1                    Y
HO/107/1137/21/Folio 7  Page 7

Willoughby is a very small place and so I zipped though and found more Ellards...one would have to presume that they are all related somehow.

William Ellard   65  Farmer   Y
Jane Ellard   55                   Y
William  Ellard 20                Y
John Ellard 15                     Y
HO/107/1137/21 Folio 7  Page 8

Thomas Ellard   40  Butcher   Y
Tabitha Ellard    45                 Y
Elizabeth Ellard  16                Y
Thomas Ellard   14                 Y
Edward Ellard  8                    Y
Lydia Ellard  4                        Y
HO107/1137/21  Folio 5  Page 3

William Ellard   70  Grocer      Y
Mary -?     35        Female Servant  Y
HO107/1137/21/  Folio 6  Page 6

The ages of the adults are rounded down....e.g. 57=55 but the enumerators didn't always get it right!

So, as we say in Birmingham.....that's yer lot!

Cheers,
India

Hi India

That is really fantastic - more than I could have hoped for - even though an Ellard was my grandmother I know next to nothing about them so this is a real find - I cant thank you enough - there are enough names here to keep me busy for a nice long time - wonderful, you are a gem  :)
