Hello Graham, I only have a Edward Newling (B) 1727 Duxford he (M) Elizabeth Sowley 28/5/1753 Gt. Helford Cambs. may be your Susan was one of his children. He did have a son Edward (C) 1759 Helford Cambs. 0r perhaps this Edward who (M) Elizabeth Lee 1773 Barley Hertford had a daughter Susan. There is a son John (B) 1777 Barley Hertford.
Could you make contact with the local Record Office that has info. on Duxford that might be Cambridge. Or perhaps somebody living in that area would be able to visit that church/Record Office for you. I know one can park free at the Cambridge Record Office. Ann

Have you checked the IGI on www.familysearch.org where there are a number of member submissions (ie not to be relied upon) of the baptism of Susan Newling on 29 May 1798, parents James and Martha? There are also member submissions of other baptisms of children of this couple - the post 1800 baptisms tie up with the baptism index on http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html so perhaps these particular member submissions are more accurate than most

Try posting a specific request for confirmation of the baptism - someone may have the Duxford transcript.

There is an extracted marriage on the IGI (reliable) of James Newling and Martha Carder at Duxford on 30 April 1786

Hello Graham,

I have this couple in my tree - (not a direct line)

SUSAN NEWLING was born 1798 in Duxford, Cambridge, and died 1853 in Duxford, Cambridge.

She married WILLIAM MANSFIELD 1819 in Duxford, St Peter, Cambridge, son of JOHN MANSFIELD and MARY BISKO.  He was born 1799 in Little Shelford, Cambridge, UK, and died 1865 in Little Shelford, Cambridge, UK.

Notes for SUSAN NEWLING:
Marriage from Boyd's Marriage Index 1538-1840

Children of SUSAN NEWLING and WILLIAM MANSFIELD are:
   i.   CHARLES5 MANSFIELD.
   ii.   JAMES MANSFIELD.
   iii.   MARY ANN MANSFIELD.
   iv.   JOHN MANSFIELD.
   v.   JANE MANSFIELD.
   vi.   CATHERINE MANSFIELD.
   vii.   HENRY MANSFIELD.
   viii.   SUSAN MANSFIELD.
ix.   WILLIAM MANSFIELD, b. 1822, Little Shelford, Cambridge, UK; d. 1897, Footscray, Victoria, Australia; m. ALICE FLEMING, 16 Apr 1867.
   x.   SARAH MANSFIELD, b. 1841, Cambridgeshire.

I haven't any further information on the MANSFIELD family but if you give me your email address per personal message I can give you a lot of NEWLING information.

All the best,
Gail

My connection to the Newling family goes back to Edward newling (B) 1/10/1727 Duxford Father Edward Mother Sarah Stallon up to 1829 when Rebecca Newling (M) Thomas Seeley.
Does anybody have any connection to this side of the family?

My husbands relatives are from Barley .I am researching the family tree and would love to share any information with you .
I have traced back to about 1500 but I may have made some mistakes along the way.
