You may be looking in the wrong County

Example
Relative married in Nicholas County Kentucky 1815
born round 1789

Do you want to look for birth/family records in Nicholas County? NO

Nicholas became a County 1799/1800 - before that it was Bourbon County - you would need to look for records in Bourbon County.

Bourbon County came from Fayette County 1785

Fayette County came from Kentucky County Virginia 1780

Susan -

Great site. Thanks for sharing.

I will find it useful since I recently discovered some of the relatives after leaving England went to Kentucky, Ohio and somehow to California.

I noticed on this site how the county lines changed in Ohio and Kentucky and they may not have moved at all. Additonal research necessary.
