Hi Nicola,

What date are we looking at here?  I have found Ronaldson's Wharf listed in North Leith in 1881.  This is near the upper draw bridge of Leith Harbour.  I would think that it was close by there excpet for the fact that it is listed as North Leith.   :-\

Ronaldsons Wharf was definitely there in mid 1850s onwards - and still there today!

Hi Nicola,
I know you posted this back in 2007 but wondered if you found out any more information.
What I do know is that Ronaldsons Wharf and Ronaldson Buildings are not the same thing. What information I have is from a post office directory of around 1830's that Ronaldson Buildings was around Leith Walk [main road to Edinburgh] whereas Ronaldsons Wharf is still on the side of the Water of Leith about 1 mile away.
Are you related to the Ronaldson's?  Brock, Philips, Martine,  family's We are and have fairly good records back to 1800.

Regards,

Thank you so much for the map showing Ronaldson Buildings. I think I was searching on maps too early. I am curious as to why someone with such a non Scottish Name has such interest in Edinburgh? I know large numbers of Scots left during the 17-1800's. Is that your connection?
