Just got to tell the world...I've found a living relly!!! An  umpeenth half cousin of my husband..we haven't worked out the details but we know there is a definate link!!

ooooh I'm so excited!!!!

I'm really envious you lucky thing!

I've no idea how to go about finding any living relatives. Apart from the direct line the search ends at the 1901 census.

How do you go about finding out the more recent info?

Isn't it great. I have met 2 rellies ( a possible 1 more- still working it out) All thanks to rootschat as well.

They found one of my postings on here and we were looking for the same people.

Thanks for all of your enthusiasm everyone  ;D, I'm still dead chuffed ....makes eveything worth while when you can talk about your own family for hours with someone that's truly interested!!!

In answer to your question Sue, this particular contact came via Genes Reunited website. I have however found four others from the Curious Fox site. On both of them you just entry details of who you're interested in, you can search for other entries under names or places you're interested in and hopefully you come up with either someone else's entry that matches your ancestor or another member searches and finds you.

All I'm waiting for is my first "cousin" to be found via RootsChat!!!

I have found three living rellies on the Genes Reunited site and am just waiting for a reply from a message I sent which could confirm another possible one.

Its so exciting when you make that connection - hope I find more.
