Anyone going to Mitchell Library? Info found, thanks.
« on: Friday 30 March 07 01:53 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone was going to the Mitchell Library and whether someone would be so kind as to look up 2 records for me?
They are in regards to the Poor house applications for Elizabeth (Jackson) Glasgow.

The first record shows:
DOB: 1835
Date of Application: 1860
Reference: D-HEW10/3/19 271

The second record shows:
DOB: 1838
Date of Application: 1862
Reference: D-HEW14/14 13506

Elizabeth's husband was Ralph Glasgow and her parents were John Jackson and Sarah McMillan.  Her previous address had been 20 Old Dalmarnock Rd, Glasgow.
Elizabeth died in Barnhill Poorhouse in 1865.

If anyone would be able to check this out I would be most appreciative.

Regards,
Andrea

Hi McLachlan,
I know it has been some years since you posted but I have just come across it and wondered if you were still persuing your search for Ralph and Elizabeth Glasgow. Ralph's father was a direct ancestor (5 generations )on my mothers side and I have  info that may fill in some gaps for you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you wish.
