From Worthen Parish Church Records

28 Feb 1795 William, s. of Dan: & Eliz: Betton bap.

This is the only child that I can find for this couple.

Earlier entries include:

12 Sep 1725 Anna, f. Danielis & Annae Betton bap.

01 Jan 1726-7 Anna, f. Danielis & Annae Betton bap.

07 Jul 1727 Anna, f. Danielis & Anne Betton sep.

19 Jan 1728-9 Daniel, f. Danielus & Annae Betton bap.

03 Oct 1729 Daniel Betton sep.

Danielus and Annea are too old to be William's parents but could they be his grandparents?

I am descended from a Richard Betton from Worthen who was born about 1748, but I can't find any birth or parental records for him. Should you come across Richard in your Beaton Research - please let me know

Dolgellau

Thank you very much indeed for the information - very greatly received :D ;) ;)

I will, of course, let you know if I come across Richard Betton (Beaton) from Worthen.  My William Betton (Beaton) was from Worthen too  so I feel sure that these two must be related somehow.

Dolgellau, I too am a descendent of Richard Betton from Worthen (Born 1748 Died 1827 Pontesbury).

He is my great, great, great, great, great Grandfather!

His parents were Daniel Betton (19th January 1729-June 1827) & Ann Purcell (1726-1764)

Richard Betton was married to Sarah Thomas (1755-1799) & had a son also Richard born in 1778.
