More squiggley writting
« on: Tuesday 07 December 04 09:07 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Any help appreciated in decyphering this one.

Its a "Where Born" from the 1871 Census of Southwark.

The Transcribed version reads Kent, Landgat. Which I think is well wrong.

Two images original and negative.

Thanks
Adrian

Even though it looks like a capital 'R' & a capital 'L', I would go with Kent, Sandgate as a first guess.

Kent, Sandgate

The above was done using the following code:
Code: [Select]
[size=30pt][font=Script]Kent, Sandgate[/font][/size]

I'd go with "Kent, Sandgate" too, which indeed exists today next to Folkestone!

Thanks everyone.

Seems almost obvious now.

Should have worked it out for myself really having lived in Folkestone for 15 years.
