Dublin Metropolitan Police lookup

Hi

Is it possible to get more information about Patrick Sinnott died aged 24, 25th december 1892, listed as Dublin Metropolitan Police.

Is there anywhere online this could be looked up, as I used my day off last week in the library and gro, and cant take another one for a while. I just need to know if he was married, and if so his spouse's name?

Any hints appreciated

When you next visit Pearse Street library, consult:
The Dublin Metropolitan Police, a complete alphabetical list of officers and men, 1836-1925, by Jim Herlihy

Armed with that info, you then need to visit the Garda Archives in the Phoenix Park.

I got the info off the burials list for glasnevin,

"Sinnott, Patrick, d. 25 Dec 1892, age: 24yr, Dublin Metropolitan Police"

And I am hopefull he would tie in with my Patrick Sinnott, but all I know about him was he had died before 1893 and his address. A leap I know.

do you know where he was born and year of birth,plus parents names.

Hi Maryderry

I dont know much about him. I know he was married to Jane Kirwan, she was born about 1860, so I am guessing he was born about the same time. Unfourtunatly too early for the 1901 census, which she is listed on.

He died before 1893 when his daughter Mary Sinnott married my ggf. And they lived in Summer Street South, in 1901. prior to that they lived in Braithwaite street and Johns street south.

I think their first child was born about 1874. And I have tried to find a marriage for that, but no luck so far. Their parish (well where they got all of their children baptised) was St Catherines of Meath Street. An they were roman catholic

I am not sure where he is buried, but his wife is buried in Glasnevin with her son.

Any ideas??
