**CLOSED** Cork Examiner - Lookup please.
« on: Sunday 12 August 07 05:28 BST (UK) »
Hello there

Today I was made aware of the Ireland Old News website and on doing a search, found that my 2xG Grandfather is on the index stating that his obituary was in the Cork Examiner 13 Nov 1865.

Unfortunately details for that particular publication date are not on the web-site.
Therefore can anyone advise me how I can get a copy or transcription of this entry please?

Many thanks.

Bren.

Hi scottcharles

Thanks for the website address, but unfortunately it only has 1846 & 47 items.
Will try emailing the Irish Examiner.

Many thanks

Hi Bren

I believe that Cork City library hold copies of the Cork Examiner (from 1841
onwards according to their website).
Perhaps if you e-mailed them they may be able to help as you have the date etc.
If not you could try putting a request on the Cork board for a 'Look-up' at the library and someone living nearby may be able to visit the library for you.
Here's the link - (click on 'Local Studies 'then click on 'Newspaper List'.)

Hope this helps

Regards

Neptune.

Hi Neptune

Thanks very much for that info.
I will wait a couple of days first to see if I hear back from the Irish Examiner.
