1901 Census Look up please, Nicholas.
« on: Tuesday 21 August 07 11:32 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Could someone kindly look on the 1901 Census for John Nicholas, Chemist aged about 40 and his wife Elizabeth Jane aged about 26.  I think they lived in Llandovery and could possibly have had a son, Addison.

Many thanks,
KateW

Hi Karenlee.

Thanks for looking that up, much appreciated.   :)

Yes, that looks like him.  Age, occupation and place all fit.  Also his sister Margaret and his mother's maiden name was Rees, so I'm happy that is him.   He was my Gt grandfather.

What I am puzzled about is his lack of wife!!

'Fisherman' kindly looked up their marriage and it seems it was in June Qtr 1899 in Aberaeron where his wife Elizabeth Jane Lewis came from and  that all seemed to fit.  Also my Granny was born in 1903 and I know she had an older brother so I would have thought he was born by then.   ???

Oh, well, perhaps she was away visiting somewhere.

KateW.

Hi Arranroots,

Thanks so much, that's fantastic.  As you say it is the missing part of the Jigsaw!!

Henfynyw is in Aberaeron, where she was born, so now all I have to work out is who Gwen Jones is.   ???

Thanks for your help and also to karenlee.
