Help needed in finding Marriage Please
« on: Tuesday 04 September 07 14:50 BST (UK) »
Hi

aaarrrgghhhhhhhhhhh was only 2 years away from 1901 census then hit brick wall.

Right then - 1st marriage ok - info from BMD index

Norman T Millington (Morgan) 1933 Q2 Chester 8a 1016
Lilian M Morgan (Teece-Millington) 1933 Q2 Chester 8a 1016 "Double barrell name"

Now went looking for Normans Birth and found

Norman Teece Millington 1903 Q4 Chester 8a 414 ----- also
Olive Teece Millington 1903 Q4 Chester 8a 414 (safely say twins)

Next went looking for Normans Parents  :'(

I was looking for a Teece marriage to a Millington but cant find - nothing shows up in the Millington Archive website or on Ancestry.

As this is only a tentative family connection at the moment I dont want to purchase the birth cert

Any ideas ?

Ken

Hi

Check the Cheshire BMD site http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/cgi/birthind.cgi for Millington

There are entries after 1912 with Teece as a second christian name

Then check against FreeBMD to see if a mothers maiden name is given

Then check for a marriage on both sites

Hope this helps

Happy hunting

Hi Ken,

Several Teece Millingtons born Chester in the early 1900s. There's a Freda registered 1st quarter 1901 - on census with parents William and Annie at RG13/3372 113 7

... and William's father was a Henry Teece Millington so the Teece connection might be a littler earlier  :P

*Possible* marriage William Henry Millington - Annie Lunt June 1895 Birkenhead
(and there is an Annie Lunt born Christleton on earlier census)

Hi

This is just a suggestion.  The area you are looking in comes under Cheshire - not Lancashire

There is a possibility that by moving your message to the Cheshire board - somebody with knowledge of that area may be in a better position to help or may even have some local knowledge of the family

Have a look at this link

http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.britisles.england.sal.general/6381/mb.ashx

A Google search threw up a lot of Teece-Millingtons - several in the Cheshire area

Ken

Ken, did you ever work out the Teece Millington line, my grandfather was Harry Leslie Teece Millington and I remember going to the families' homes in Handbridge, Chester when I was a child.
Best wishes

Maureen
