Hi Bryant,

This could be Michael Bryant in the 1891 at the District Camberwell Infirmary:
Michael Bryan, inmate, 60, mar, General Labourer, b. East Ham, Essex
There's a Kate Bryan, lodger, 55, mar, Box Maker, in St Luke, East Finsbury..? Couldn't find any other Catherine or Kate that fitted. There is a couple Michael 60, general labourer and Catherine 55, charwoman, both born Ireland and living in Westminster, London, but that doesn't quite fit either.
There's also a William Bryant at the District Camberwell Infirmary, inmate, single, General Labourer, b. 1868, Camberwell. Could this be their son?

Our Bryant line in Peckham began with a Timothy M and Hanora, they left Ireland in 1832. I am certain that she was a Sullivan as the records of Our Lady of the 7 Dolour, Peckham has the two family standing as godparents / sponsors for their babies.  My husband's line comes through their youngest son Daniel Jerome (1845).  Your Michael, born 1833 was the eldest son,  Daniel J had a son Edmund James, Regimental Sergeant Major with the 19th Hussars.  Edmund James is my husband's grandfather.  I see you also have a soldier of that era who would be cousin of our Edmund.

I am glad to have your research as to Michael in 1871 & 1881, Michael married Catherine Bryan in March 1852.  She came from Clonakilty.   She seems to have been the one who spoke for the family, hence the name becoming Bryan rather than Bryant. A Michael Bryan died Dec 1906 in Camberwell - is that him?.

There were other brothers, John (1839) and Matthew (1841).  Both married.  The sister Mary(1837)married too, to George Courtney.

Are you still researching the family?
