1851 cencus Perth
« on: Thursday 30 December 04 15:41 GMT (UK) »
I have some information on family members living in Perth based on the 1861 census.  I would like to know if they were there in 1851 but I don't have access to that census.  Is there someone who has access that could look up some information for me.

Hi there!

Do you still need a look-up on the census??  If so get back to me as I have access and can check it for you.

Hi, first time i've been on this site - it's fascinating!  Is it possible to look up an entry for me - Joseph Sime, born 1850, and his parents in Perth.  I think his parents names were Joseph and Catharine.  Joseph (senior) might have been a warder at Perth Jail.  I'd be grateful for any help you can give.  Thanks

Thank you.  I haven't checked the site in a while.
What I have is from the 1861 census:
Peter Duffy - Head - 47
Bridget Duffy - Wife - 42
Mary Carnie - Daughter - 16
John Carnie - Son-in-law - 26
Patrick Duffy - Son - 20
Martin Duffy - 18 - Son
Ann Duffy - 7 - Daughter
The family was living at 40 Meal Vennel in Perth
All were born in Ireland except Ann Duffy who was born in Perth
John and Mary Carnie (Carney) were married on October 21, 1860 at St. John's Catholic Chapel in Perth. The marriage register listed John's parents as Thomas Carnie and Ann Joyce, both deceased.
I would like to know if the families were listed in the 1851 Census. I do not know when John Carnie arrived in Perth and I do not know whether Thomas and Ann Joyce Carnie ever lived in Perth.
When John and Ann were married she was listed as living at "Meal Onnel."
