Hi George

I've been looking on Scotlands people and so far no results for William Linklater, Orkney with those parents.

William Linklater and Margaret Brown (Broun) had the following children in Sandwick:

10 April 1808 - Margrat
3 Aug 1812 - Hellen

The only marriage/banns that I can find is a Margaret Brown to a John Linklater, Stromness, 8 Nov 1804.

They went on to have children in Stromness to August 1825 - a Wilhemina.

I will keep looking for you

Will check Robina next

It's so long since I was at school, my geography is history  ;D

...could this be William Linklater on Scotland 1841? adults in household are William & Margaret.

George

Been having a think - with the No Image, you have to order from GROS (£10) or get someone to have a look at the SNA.

However, if you have a friendly LDS centre in Torquay (which I think you do), you could pop along and order the film of that parish: Nesting, Lunnasting, Whalsay and Skerries, Shetland  for a few pounds and probably be able to view and copy it  :)
