last 'brother'
« on: Tuesday 22 January 08 15:25 GMT (UK) »
Thought I'd keep going. This is the last 'brother' but I don't think this one is in the Blackwatch, Camerons or the A&SH somehow! He may be someone else in the family. If you can help me with the regiment or service perhaps I can give him his proper name.
Grateful thanks for all your help
Jen

Interesting, I thought that too - but no one in the family was in the RAF! All uncles, grandad etc served in the army.  I thought the coat might be a 'greatcoat' - thats what grandad called his.

I'm ex-RAF and had a greatcoat like that. We also wore black ties with a light blue-grey shirt. The man in your photo appears to have the same.

Regards Michael.

The hats of the men in the Home Guard look like the one this man is wearing.

On the sleeve of the greatcoat you can just see a bit of what looks like it could be an aircraftman's badge.

Thank you all for your input. I take on board all your points.

If he is RAF then I have no idea why he is among our photos as no one in the family - brothers, cousins etc were in the RAF.

The Home guard could be a possibility - not one of the 'brothers' but perhaps from my fathers line -another side of the family altogether.

I think this will be anotherunsolved mystery but thanks again for your help
