Record Facility - Laverton

I have heard that there is some Records facility at or near Laverton (just outside Melbourne) where old records are kept and available to be searched. If there is anyone that can give me more information I would be most grateful.

The Victorian PRO was situated in Cherry Lane Laverton until a few years ago then the new North Melbourne facility was built.
