Merthyr Marriages LOWE

I was wondering if someone had access to information on the marriages in 1848 in  Merthyr Tydfil of Anne Lowe and Sarah Lowe. Would like to know spouses names.

Have you tried searching for their marriage entries in the GRO Marriage index? The husband's surname will not be listed (spouse's surnames are listed on microfiche from around 1911 onwards)

Another suggestion is (if you live nearby) to find out where they attended church, and then to find out where those parish registers are held to view the marriage entries.

Out of curiosity I searched the 1841 Census for you and there were no match to the 2 women. There is a LOO family with both an Ann and a Sarah (Twins) living in Aberdare Village, Merthyr Tydfil.

It could be this is the Lowe family enumerated wrongly in the Census.

Yes that is the family and one of many spelling variations.
I have checked the GRO but as yet not been able to track down the spouses.
I live in Australia where our information seems to be a bit more complete and was hoping Wales locals may have had better access to information.

Just to let you know I have already cross referenced the mens surnames in the census following their marriage without success.

Checked at the library this morning but it looks as if the marriages didn't take place in Merthyr - maybe Aberdare? Do you have any idea where Sarah & Anne were living when they married?

Thanks for trying, sorry if I did not give you enough information. I am unsure exactly how the area works.
In the 1841 census the address was shown as Aberdare Village
In  1850 their father Edward died and his address was shown as Bute St Aberdare
That address also appears for the family in the 1851 census.
I hope this helps.
