James Banks

I'm trying to find info re James Banks c.1794 born Rickling, Essex. He married Sarah [unknown] probably around 1817-20 and had 5 children.
Their son Joseph was born c.1826 and married Anne Jordan in 1849 before coming to Australia in 1855. What I need to find is more about James Banks' family and the surname of his wife Sarah. Any help will be most appreciated.
Jim

How urgently do you need this information? I may be able to help but not for a few weeks.

I'm not in a great hurry. He's been dead a long time!

James

I must really apologize for not getting back to you for simply years  :o.

My reason now is that I no longer live in Essex so am not able to get to the Record Office in Chelmsford which I presume was my intention in 2008!

I don't know where you are based but may I suggest you contact the Essex Record Office in Chelmsford?  Or if you can even go in person - I always found them most helpful.

Good luck and again many apologies for the shocking delay  :-[

Hi Ducky,

To tell you the truth I had forgotten about this posting until I saw the dates. Thanks for getting back to me ................ a year or so isn't really long in genealogy.

I live in beautiful sunny Bathurst in the Central Tablelands of NSW Australia so my chances of getting to Chelmsford are extremely remote but I do appreciate the tip.

I seem to have come to several 'dead ends' with my research and unfortunately they are all in the UK so at this stage they will have to remain in the 'too hard' file.

Regards

James
